The work
One hero set: a dark, cinematic, photoreal real-time interior. Near-future control room meets modern intelligence-operations center. Restrained, expensive, not sci-fi kitsch. A 3-seat arc anchor desk as the centerpiece, with a 4-seat variant of the same design for a second studio. You build it, you light it, and you make it run live inside Aximmetry with presenters keyed in.
1. Model, dress and light the set in UE5 (Lumen, Nanite, Megascans) to a photoreal, high-end register. Lighting is the job: dark reflective floor, glass and brushed metal under studio light, from three fixed cameras.
2. Three states on one set: standard, cinematic dark and breaking-red. Same geometry, different lighting, material and accent states, switchable live by an operator without touching Unreal.
3. Package the project for Aximmetry (Unreal for Aximmetry / AX Scene Editor) and verify it loads and holds a locked 60 fps in the current Aximmetry release with headroom for keying and live inputs.
4. Talent placement layer: billboards, shadow planes, reflection catchers and floor contact so keyed presenters sit in the set convincingly. Virtual light matched to the physical key, fill and rim on set.
5. Virtual camera library: wides, singles per seat, push-ins and a signature opener, triggered from Aximmetry.
6. In-set screens wired as live NDI inputs through Aximmetry.
7. Documentation and hand-off so a technical operator runs show days without you.
Must have
- Shipped virtual production or live broadcast work in Unreal Engine: at least one set that ran with real presenters keyed in, not only beauty renders.
- Photoreal real-time lighting in UE5 you can point to and say you owned.
- Aximmetry experience strongly preferred. Strong Vizrt, Zero Density or Pixotope backgrounds considered if you can show the same work and will move to Aximmetry fast.
- Green-screen compositing craft: matched light direction and color temperature, clean floor contact, no fringe.
- UE5 performance discipline: Lumen, Nanite, LODs, texture budgets, and the judgment to cut what a fixed camera never sees.
Nice to have
- News or live-event set design credits.
- NDI, DMX, Stream Deck / Bitfocus Companion, or OBS in a live chain.
- Motion graphics for in-set screens.
- US or Europe time zone with working overlap to New York.
Engagement
Remote. Hourly or fixed bid, your call. Start immediately; six to eight weeks to first air, with ongoing work likely (additional sets, seasonal variants, event builds). We move fast and expect the same.
